Greetings,I am honored to welcome you to the official site of the Tucson Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. The sorority was founded in 1913, by twenty-two courageous collegiate women on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D. C. Our chapter was chartered in 1967 to serve the Southern Arizona communities of Tucson and Sierra Vista. Our members are proud of the rich history of our sorority and our chapter, as we continue to operate under the National theme: “Uncompromising Commitment to Communities: Service, Leadership, and Empowerment”.

We are actively engaged in public service projects that are aligned with the sorority’s Five Point Programmatic Thrusts: Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health and Political Awareness and Involvement. Additionally, our members also promote Social Action issues and are involved in Arts and Letters events.
This year, we anticipate expanding our Educational Development efforts to include a focus on our young men through the EMBODI Program: Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence. This engagement will join our existing Delta Academy and Delta GEMS programs where we mentor young girls ages 11 –18, through educational enrichment workshops and activities.
On behalf of the members of the Tucson Alumnae Chapter, thank you for visiting our website where you will learn more about who we are and what we do in service to the Tucson community.
