Mrs. Betty Brown was a beloved teacher and school administrator for 35 years. She spent 30 of those years working in the Tucson Unified School District in Tucson, Arizona. Upon her death in September 2000, her sorority established a scholarship fund to assist females of Black or African American heritage in obtaining a college education.
Mrs. Brown left a legacy of high academic standards,commitment to community service, and a love of humanity. To honor her legacy, the Tucson Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. established the Betty Brown Scholarship to assist high school seniors who have a passion to learn, a determination to succeed, and an eagerness to earn a college degree.
The Tucson Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is pleased to announce that our scholarship application period is now open through March 13, 2020.
